Hi Barb, Thank you for your nice comment! Unfortunately, that swarm did not make it through the winter. I fed them, but at some point they disappeared. I thought about buying a new colony, but it's expensive. So, any bees around here now are just visitors.

Oh drat. I'm so sorry to hear this. I had high hopes! Maybe another will move in. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteWe ended up with a lot of deadouts this Spring as well, although we hope to make at least a few survivor splits if its a strong season. We shall see!
In any case, happy 2021, and may it be a better year for us all.
