Crinum Bulbs. 3.16.18

These were at Costco.  I bought them on impulse.   I had Crinums in the old yard in Vancouver, surviving at least 15 years, and the yard in Battleground too.  They come up every year, bloom for a while, and disappear.  The remind me of Lycoris, which I have never been able to establish.

I planted them in a container with existing lilies.  Their flowers are transient, but nice.  We'll see how they do.

  2. I've not seen this before but by luck I got a nice Peruvian Daffodil. Its a crazy story, one day I saw a bulb with leaves lying in the middle of the road and it must have fell out of a dump truck because nobody in my neighborhood have them in the front yard. So I stuck it in my front yard and the most beautiful green/yellow spider lily thing came out. I think its called"Sulfur Queen." Crinum is related to those big bulb plants. I love all of them. I just ordered some red spider lily from ebay. I think you'll like the crinum.

    1. Thanks Lance. I never had much luck with Peruvian Daffodils. Must be the climate. I bet yours will do much better.
