Ning's Chickens
This was a week ago. I pulled out the marigolds and sweet alyssum. They were too rank and taking over the bearded iris bed. The hens ate them but not with enthusiasm. They liked the sweet alyssum plants much more than the marigolds.
A beautiful scene! The sounds of hens makes me feel comfortable. Our neighbor behind us has hens, and they make music all day long. Glad they don't have a rooster
Joan, they are very funny. When I visit them, they all come running to me. When it's time for them to go into their house, I go to the gate and tell them to go inside, and they do.
You are right, the cooing and clucking is soothing.

No roosters here either.
