Yellow Peony

Unknown variety - found growing among weeds 5 years ago. Fragrant, but the flowers hide among the leaves so it's better as a cut flower. As with the rest of the yard, 100% organic.

HYmenocallis has 2 blossoms. Spanish lavender

This was SUPPOSED to be fragrant. It isn't (at least I cant smell it) but it's a cool looking flower anyway.

Hymenocallis blossom. Brugmansia bud. Opuntia ears.

I thought this might bloom mid or late summer. Here it is tonight.

Below is the brugmansia. Sorry about the blurry photo - might need to invest in better cam. I was surprised to find some little flower buds already. This probably points to June blossoms.
The little opuntias are growing 'ears'

Overwintered Gerania Bouncing Back

I suppose the plural is geraniums but I can indulge myself. The green leaf one is 'pine scented' - strongly scented now. Other overwintered gerania are also starting to fill in. If you want instant flowers & good looking leaves, it's quicker to buy new ones. If you want to be frugal, or maintain a favorite variety, the overwintering is a good idea, and it's easy. The other scented-leaf gerania didn't survive as dried plants, but the cuttings took minimal window space and are also starting to grow now. Posted by Picasa

Tomatoes Are Planted Now

They are all settled in as of yesterday. The 'weeds' are cilantro and garlic, whcih should be done long before there are any tomatoes.Posted by Picasa
