Goodness gracious! I fail to log in for a few weeks, only to see that the winter months haven't slowed you down in the least! You put me to shame ... :)

It's your Ridgefield neighbor here. Just wanted to log in and see how you're faring now that Spring is nearly upon us. I have yet to review all your entries, but on first blush, it seems most everything in your world is awakening with gusto.

On my side of it, hubby and i will be ordering our Italian bees this weekend! Last year, we purchased and put together our top bar hives (from the same source you use, i do believe), and this year, we'll focus on bringing them to life. I'm sure we'll make many mistakes along the way, but what fun those mistakes will bee ... :)

    Cheers for now,

    Barbara

  2. Thank you Barbara! Puttering in the yard and garden gives me peace of mind. I never completely stop. This time of year it's not as much though.

I made some mistakes with my bees. Especially not feeding them. The organic bee seminar I went to said not to feed them. I think that starved them out. I feel bad about it. I will get a replacement colony at Ruhl Bee. I don't know what to do with the old hive, if it is safe use or not.
